Girls just want to have fun
Throw caution to the wind and go back in time for a 1980s-inspired girlie sleepover. Get ready to party into the early hours of the morning with these fun and festive ideas!

THE FUN HOUSE
Take over the host’s lounge and dining area by going with bright and bold decorations. Think pom-poms on string, paper flicker garlands, gold metallic tassels, ‘Be Happy’ bunting and washi tape.
BOLD BULBS
Fill birdcages and gold-glittered jam jars with brightly coloured cut bulb flowers like tulips and hyacinths. Decorate the vessels with mini ‘Congrats!’ and ‘Happy!’ paper flags and feathered fake birds.
CUE THE CONFETTI
The more colourful the tableware, the better. Use rainbow paper plates, cups, napkins, retro striped straws and paper confetti!

POPCORN
Bring out the 80s cult classics like Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Footloose and Dirty Dancing. No movie night is complete without popcorn – for our version you’ll want to add melted white chocolate and rainbow sprinkles!
EAT CAKE FOR BREAKFAST
Buy a dozen or more doughnuts and stack these high to make a tower of treats to enjoy the next morning. And keeping with the doughnut look, make savoury pizza bagels by grilling cheddar cheese and bacon bits on open bagels.
SPIKE THE PUNCH
Make it a grown-up sleepover party by serving Mimosas, Mojitos and Sangria in cute jam jars with mini paper parasols.

POPSICLES
For a healthy breakfast option, freeze an ice tray filled with yoghurt and slices of strawberries and blueberries. Add paper straws for handles.
BRIGHT BANDS
Cute ban.do hair bands and clips make for pretty (and useful) party favours – add thank-you tags to complete this gift idea.
CANDY CRUSH
For a not-so-ordinary midnight snack run, fill a metallic diamond-shaped piñata with sweets and treats – and then let everyone get cracking!

SWEET SEND-OFF
Chocolate is always the answer, no matter what the question is! Fill little colourful treat bags with choccies for a sweet reminder of the festivities.
GAME TIME
Play traditional sleepover games like pass the parcel, spin the nail polish bottle, or how about a round of truth or dare? Or why not make up newlywed quiz cards – prior to the party you have the groom answer the questions as if he were speaking for the bride. And then, at the party, see what the bride really says!
DIY DJ
Delegate to one of the bridesmaids the task of making an epic playlist on their iPhone and then set up a mini portable speaker so you can dance till dawn.
